Mind being mindful

Mindfulness is focusing our thoughts on what we are doing. Being mindful is a state of bliss and the easiest one that everyone can do. It is as simple as, when we sweep the floor, we only mind that and if we diverge on other thoughts, just put it back whenever it is realized.

Sikshavalli (Taittiriya Upanisat)

Don't be heedless on recitation of sacred texts

Don't fail to pay attention to truth and one's duties

Don't be inattentive to propriety and well-being

Don't be unmindful of what is offered to God and ancestors

Gift should be offered with attention and willingly and not the other way

Example from Srimad Ramayana
When king Dasaratha broke his wish of installing Sri Ram as the prince regent, family priest Vasistha asked Sri Ram to observe fasting  to Lord Sri Ranganatha (family deity of Ikshvaku) the night before the big day
Having bathed himself, Sri Rama along with his wife, who had large eyes worshipped Lord Narayana with concentrated mind

Having taken the part of havis (oblations to be poured in sacred fire), Sri Ram along with his wife Vaidehi slept on the bed of Kusa grass with concentrated mind on the glorious temple
